The « STEPHANY ORTEGA TRIO » is an ensemble composed by Dominican-Luxembourger soprano Stephany Ortega, Belgian accordionist and bandoneonist Christophe Delporte, and French double bassist Adrien Tyberghein. Their goal: to create a captivating and original symbiosis between classical and popular music.
Astor Piazzolla, one of the most famous composers of the last century and creator of « Tango Nuevo », is honored in this recital. The Stephany Ortega Trio's eclectic line-up and original arrangements allow Piazzolla's songs to navigate between classical, popular and contemporary music, with a touch of pop and electronica that blends wonderfully with Stephany's lyrical yet modern voice. Together, they have created an authentic and passionate program of the most beautiful ‘tango canción’ and ‘Milongas’.
After two critically acclaimed albums, «Return» and «American Soul: from Broadway to Paris» (Hänssler Classic), the latter nominated for an International Classical Music Award (ICMA), soprano Stephany Ortega continues to highlight her Latin American roots, bridging the gap between classical and popular singing. The trio is currently preparing the release of their album: « Astor Piazzolla : Tango Passion! », to be launched in October 2024. With this recital, the « Stephany Ortega Trio » will introduce you, with charm and originality, to the extraordinary world of Astor Piazzolla's ‘Tango Nuevo’ !
